Hyundai - Error Code P0106

The P0106 code notes an issue with the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) or Barometric (BARO) sensor. The P0106 code means it has detected an abnormally high or low voltage signal from the MAP sensor or BARO sensor.
Causes:
- Damaged MAP sensor
- Damaged BARO sensor
- Damaged ECM
- Outdated ECM
- Incorrect software installed on ECM
- Damaged, corroded, shorted, or open wiring
Symptoms:
- Check engine light
- Rough idle
- Hesitating engine
- Worse fuel economy
- Dark exhaust smoke
Diagnose and Repair:
- Visually inspect wiring and related electrical connections for signs of corrosion or damage
- Check for any airflow issues in the engine
- Make sure the filters are clear and clean
- Check for a possible vacuum leaks
- Check for any clogged pipes
- Check the MAP and BARO sensors are working properly by checking for power and ground at each sensor
