Hyundai - Error Code P0103

This P0103 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) means the Mass Airflow (MAF) Sensor has a high voltage output to the Engine Control Unit (ECU).

Causes:

• MAF wiring may be too close to other wiring, causing interference.

  
  

• Air intake system may have a leak like a such as in the vacuum hose or air intake hose.

  
  

• Loose hose clamps or other intake leak before the MAF sensor.

  
  

Symptoms:

• Engine Light On
• May run slightly erratically
• May have less power
• May back fire and idle inconsistently

Diagnose & Repair:

• Inspect the electrical connector to the MAF. Disconnect it and then reinstall to insure fresh electrical connection to remove any corrosion on the contacts.

  
  

• Check for wiring being frayed, damaged, or broken on the connector.

  
  

• Check for vacuum leaks on the intake manifold hose and fittings.
